Introducing RACERS Inc., a digital collection of 69 unique racing car toys.
Spread across 6 different car types and 3 attributes, this collection pays a tribute to the good old days of being a kid, buying and trading these bad boys with your friends, always on the quest to get the coolest one.
Now I invite you to reignite this energy
Collect the car. Collect the vibe. Collect the thrill.
69 Racers. 69 originals.
Each of these 69 Racers is the result of a thorough creative process. Brainstorming, hand-sketching, running those sketches through AI, tweaking and workshopping until each one clicks. Until it feels as distinctive and full of character as the ones we used to pick off the shelf. Read more about it below.
The idea first came to me when I found some old toy cars at my grandma's, it only felt right that I'd gather some more inspiration in the real world. I got more old used toy cars, some from my own childhood, others bought second-hand. I ended up with around 130 collected cars currently chilling in my bottom drawer.
Toy cars are one of the ultimate symbols of childhood. We all played with them, identified with them, dreamed about owning the real ones after we grew up. I have a few on my desk now, to always remind me who I am. That's exactly why I made RACERS inc.
The physical cars were only a starting point. I wanted to make my own variations, let my imagination loose, and let the process guide the way.
I became a toy creator, a car designer, a tinkerer letting his imagination run wild. From the big box of diecasts, I picked the ones I liked the most.
I reimagined them, some I modified and combined together, with others I removed their features.
The goal? To find a car with the most character, a car that a kid would absolutely love.

After that, I took all the hand sketches and started running them through different AI models, prompting and reprompting until I got results good enough to use as high fidelity designs for the final Racer generation.

With the designs done, the real work began. For each Racer I had to figure out its final form, colours and materials, wear and tear, visual consistency across the collection, prints, decals, background. And don't forget about the packaging, that took almost as long as the Racers themselves.
Often this meant regenerating the same image multiple times with different prompts, just to get it right. Times 69.

RACERS inc. is my attempt to reawaken something that most of us carry inside. Something that we once held very dear.
I loved my toy cars. My girlfriend loved them. All the kids in the school loved them. Most of my friends still have their old ones hidden somewhere cozy in their parents' houses.
A toy car is a recurring symbol in most childhoods, and that's why this project was calling for me. It ties us all together, represents Childhood Fantastica perfectly, and connects us in play.
I am proud and excited to share RACERS inc with the world. With you.
